During late April and early May, we continued with basic maintenance, including battery charging, rain gage clean-out, etc. We conducted stormflow sampling, with good samples being collected at all six stations on April 2nd through April 5th and April 23rd through April 25th. Samples were taken to the F. X. Browne, Inc. laboratory, composited, and analyzed for parameters listed in the work plan. Additionally, we repaired damages at the West Branch station by installing a temporary probe and flow module for the damaged/destroyed parts resulting from flooding. We also restored the damaged phone line connection. The Main Stem station was repaired and cleaned as necessary to restore full operation. Lastly, we replaced the ISCO unit at the Purdy station with a temporary ISCO unit, as the pump circuit has failed and needs to be replaced.
Data from all stations were downloaded weekly (at a minimum). Upon download, the data were entered into their respective databases created by the Flowlink 4.15 software. All data were analyzed immediately upon download to ensure that the stations were working properly. April data for all stations were added to the respective calculations spreadsheets created for this project.

We prepared for and attended the April Board meeting, and we held numerous telephone conversations with Karen Mandeville and several Board members regarding various projects.
F. X. Browne, Inc. coordinated the April and May 2005 sampling events for Lake Wallenpaupack. On April 13, 2005 and May 4, 2005, we collected surface, middle, and bottom water samples for chemical analysis at Station #3. In addition, we collected photic zone composite samples for chlorophyll a and phytoplankton analyses. We also collected temperature and dissolved oxygen profile data at 1 meter intervals from the surface to the bottom. The water column was completely mixed, as evidenced by the thermal and dissolved oxygen profiles. We then transported all samples to our laboratory in Marshalls Creek and analyzed them for total phosphorus, dissolved reactive phosphorus, total Kjeldahl nitrogen, nitrate/nitrite nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen, total suspended solids, alkalinity (surface samples only), and pH.
A summary of the water quality data for April and May 2005 is provided in Appendix A.
