F. X. Browne, Inc. coordinated the March and April 2004 sampling event for Lake Wallenpaupack. On March 1, 2004 and April 21, 2004, we collected surface, middle, and bottom water samples for chemical analysis at Station #3. In addition, we collected photic zone composite samples for chlorophyll a and phytoplankton analyses. We also collected temperature and dissolved oxygen profile data at 1-meter intervals from the surface to the bottom. The water column was completely mixed, as evidenced by the thermal and dissolved oxygen profiles. We then transported all samples to our laboratory in Marshalls Creek and analyzed them for total phosphorus, dissolved reactive phosphorus, total Kjeldahl nitrogen, nitrate/nitrite nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen, total suspended solids, fecal coliform bacteria, fecal streptococci bacteria, alkalinity (surface samples only), and pH.
A summary of the March and April 2004 water quality data is provided in Appendix A.
