PA1012-55 - LWWMD GROWING GREENER PROJECT
During February 2003, F. X. Browne, Inc. continued with basic maintenance, including battery charging, rain gage clean-out, etc. As a result of extremely cold temperatures, it was necessary to change out the batteries on several of the stations and to restart and reprogram the samplers. The ability to download data using the modem connection has again prevented excessive loss of data.
Data from all stations were downloaded weekly (at a minimum, with more frequent downloads occurring during the coldest weather in an effort not to lose data). Upon download, the data entered into their respective databases created by the Flowlink 4.15 software. All data were analyzed immediately upon download to ensure that the stations were working properly.
Data were updated, graphed, and printed for our meeting with USEPA and DEP regarding the Lake Wallenpaupack TMDL study.
Billing Group 002 - Krautter Farm No work was completed for this task.
Billing Group 005 Swingle Farm No work was completed for this task.

PA1012-60 2003 LAKE WALLENPAUPACK WATER QUALITY MONITORING PROJECT
During February and March 2004, F. X. Browne, Inc. completed all final data entry and statistical analyses for the 2003 lake monitoring program. We prepared all graphs and prepared a final draft of the update report for review. We made edits to the plan and made copies of the final version for distribution at the March Board Meeting.
During the month of February 2004, F. X. Browne, Inc. prepared for and attended the February 2004 LWWMD Board Meeting and discussed various project related topics with Karen Mandeville by telephone.
F. X. Browne, Inc. coordinated the February and March 2004 sampling event for Lake Wallenpaupack. On January 11, 2004 and March 1, 2004, we collected surface, middle, and bottom water samples for chemical analysis at Station #3. In addition, we collected photic zone composite samples for chlorophyll a and phytoplankton analyses. We also collected temperature and dissolved oxygen profile data at 1-meter intervals from the surface to the bottom. The water column was completely mixed, as evidenced by the thermal and dissolved oxygen profiles. We then transported all samples to our laboratory in Marshalls Creek and analyzed them for total phosphorus, dissolved reactive phosphorus, total Kjeldahl nitrogen, nitrate/nitrite nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen, total suspended solids, fecal coliform bacteria, fecal streptococci bacteria, alkalinity (surface samples only), and pH.
A summary of the February and March 2004 water quality data is provided in Appendix A.
