Cruise to Highlight PA’s Ohio River Watershed
The third annual Ohio Watershed Riverboat Cruise will be held on September 16 in Pittsburgh. Participants will be traveling on the Ohio River aboard the Gateway Clipper Fleet’s Majestic. The voyage offers guided narration of points of interest throughout the trip, speakers and presentations, posters and displays, free food, door prizes, and more. This is also an opportunity for guests to network with local government officials and others involved in watershed groups, government, business, industry and education. Pre-cruise festivities begin at 11am, and cruise departs at 1pm. Topics include: the history of Neville Island, river ecology, the workings of a lock and dam, combined sewer overflows, the new water resources law, sediment control (MS-4 Program), the Emsworth Dam, and water wells. The cruise is free of charge. If your organization is interested in having a poster display, limited space is available at no cost on a first come, first serve basis. http://www.streamrestorationinc.org/rsvp
