New Jersey Water Education Grants

The New Jersey Project WET Program is offering grants to public and private schools to celebrate water. The grants provide the necessary funds and resources to sponsor a one day water festival during the month of May 2004 (Watershed Awareness Month). The festivals will celebrate the role of water and its importance in our lives, while teaching children about the science and the history of water, one of our most important natural resources. A Festival consists of learning stations and exhibits that engage the students in hands-on experiments and investigations. Grants range from $600 to $1,000. Please email njwet@optonline.net or visit http://www.nj.gov/dep/seeds/wetgrnt.htm to receive the complete guidelines. The grant proposal is due by February 27th, 2004. These grants are part of a national effort, titled "Make a Splash" organized by The Watercourse and Project WET (Water Education for Teachers), an interdisciplinary, water science and education program for formal and non-formal educators of K-12 students.
