Barnegat Bay Watershed Grants

Nonprofit groups are eligible to apply for grants from the Trust for Public Land for work benefiting the environment in the Barnegat Bay watershed. It is the 10th year the Trust for Public Land has administered the grant program for the state Department of Environmental Protection, using amounts ranging from $500 to $5,000 for projects that help educate, plan, monitor, research, and foster stewardship for the environmental treasures in and around the bay. The deadline for applying for the grants is March 5, with awards announced during the first week in April. Schools and government entities can partner with nonprofit groups to help support projects benefiting the bay. Groups interested in applying for grants can contact Erin Maguire at the Trust for Public Land, (973) 292-1100, ext. 10. Applications are also available online at http://www.tpl.org.
