NY:  Biological Control Options for Milfoil Field Trip

This informal field trip will focus on Acentria Moths in Lincoln Pond, Elizabethtown, NY. Held on Sunday, August 8 between 1 and 3 pm at the boat launch by the causeway on Lincoln Pond, Bob Johnson of Cornell Research Ponds will lead a boat tour of aquatic weed problems and will explain moth and weevil control options.  The various weeds and insects in the lake will be identified. Anita Deming of Cornell Cooperative Extension will provide information on the research project that released moths in 2001 and 2002 and the results to date along with a discussion of preventing new aquatic infestations.
