Many of our projects have received state and national recognition. Some of our most noteworthy projects are listed below.

2006 Innovative Stormwater Best Management Practices

2006 Stormwater Best Management Practices Award Recognition by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the City of Philadelphia for innovative stormwater Best Management Practices in southeastern Pennsylvania for the development of the F. X. Browne, Inc. constructed wetland retrofit to treat stormwater runoff and filter parking lot pollution on the grounds of the company headquarters in Lansdale , PA.

2006 Stormwater Best Management Practices Award Recognition for innovative stormwater management design for Homsher Hill, LLC's Stony Creek Farms , an Age-Qualified Residential Development in Worcester Township , Pennsylvania .

2006 Stormwater Management Award by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the City of Philadelphia for the design of the Overbrook Environmental Education Center with the Community Design Collaborative.

2004 New Jersey Environmental Excellence Award

The Central Avenue Wastewater Treatment Facility, designed by F. X. Browne, Inc. for Burlington Township, New Jersey, received the 2004 New Jersey Environmental Excellence Award for Innovative Technology.   The first of its kind in the U.S., this innovative 3.65 million gallon per day Phased Isolation Ditch treatment plant saved the township $4 million in construction costs and continues to save thousands of dollars each year in operations and maintenance costs.  The Environmental Excellence Award was given by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, together with NJ’s Corporation for Advanced Technology and League of Municipalities.

Northeastern Pennsylvania Environmental Partners – Environmental Partnership Award

The Twin and Walker Creeks Watershed Conservancy of Shohola, Pike County, received an Environmental Partnership Award in 2004 from Northeastern Pennsylvania Environmental Partners for promoting a better understanding of their watershed and its ecosystem, and protecting, restoring, and enhancing the watershed through proper management and stewardship.  F. X. Browne, Inc. prepared the management plan for the Twin Walker Creeks Watershed, and we conduct an annual water quality monitoring program for the Conservancy’s volunteer monitors.

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Environmental Partners include the Pennsylvania Environmental Council, and the state’s Department of Environmental Protection and Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions (ANJEC)

The Greenway Plan F. X. Browne, Inc. developed for the Crosswicks Creek/Doctors Creek Watershed Regional Planning Group, with the combined support of six municipal environmental commissions, received an award in 2004 from the Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions (ANJEC) for its multiple-town cooperative effort.  The plan identifies preservation and management strategies to protect water quality and scenic, historic and recreational resources.

F. X. Browne, Inc. receives Outstanding Corporation Award

F. X. Browne, Inc. received the Outstanding Corporation Award from the North American Lake Management Society in 1991. Each year the award is presented to a corporation which has supported the Society and has performed outstanding work in the management and restoration of lakes. F. X. Browne, Inc. was one of the founding members of the North American Lake Management Society and has performed hundreds of lake and watershed management projects in 14 states.

1998 Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence - Environmental Education

This award was presented to F. X. Browne, Inc., the Lake Wallenpaupack Watershed Management District, and the Wallenpaupack Area School District for outstanding achievement in environmental education excellence for the highly successful environmental education curriculum developed by F. X. Browne, Inc., sponsored by the Lake Wallenpaupack Watershed Management District, and implemented by the Wallenpaupack Area School District. This program and curriculum has evolved in recent years into the statewide Pennsylvania Environmental Education Curriculum.

Take Pride in Pennsylvania Award - 1990

Our 21 year on-going lake and watershed management program for Lake Wallenpaupack in Pennsylvania won the 1990 "Take Pride in Pennsylvania" Award for its Phase I Management Plan and its 14 years of implementing the plan. This project has received state and federal funding for lake management for the past 21 years.

Take Pride in Pennsylvania Award - 1989

Our project for Shawnee Development, Inc. won the "Take Pride in Pennsylvania" Award in 1989. The project received recognition for our management plan that protected wetlands and water quality by using an innovative stormwater management plan.

Take Pride in America Award

Our Phase I Study of Franklin Lake, New Jersey received the "Take Pride in America" Award in 1988 and was recognized in a ceremony at the White House. It received recognition for its public education and public participation program that involved local citizens and public officials in developing a lake management plan.
