Wastewater Design and Management Middle Smithfield Township Municipal Authority Monroe County, PA F. X. Browne, Inc. has served as the Middle Smithfield Township Municipal Authority Engineer since 1986. Middle Smithfield Township hired F. X. Browne, Inc. to revise their Wastewater Management Plan which had been completed by another consultant. We revised the plan and recommended that the Township construct a regional wastewater collection system and purchase a privately-owed treatment plant which would be expanded to 1 mgd and used as a municipal wastewater treatment facility. F. X. Browne, Inc.
assisted the Township in establishing a Municipal Authority. We designed the
regional sewer interceptor system which included over 12,000 linear feet of
pressure and gravity sewer line and six wastewater pumping stations. We
delineated wetlands and watercourses within the 50-foot wide sewer interceptor
right-of-way and evaluated alternative interceptor locations to avoid wetland
and other protected areas. We negotiated a financial agreement with a major
developer to guarantee the financial success of the wastewater facilities. |
